Shamanism - A living practice that is evolving in co-creation with Life

Shamanic practices and beliefs can be found in every corner of the world – either still alive today, or at the root of many faiths, myths and folk lore. At the heart of shamanism is the concept of animism: the knowing that everything is alive and inter-connected. All beings, all natural phenomena, and the universe as a whole. A fact science has just recently caught up with…

Shamanism is a way of living and being that is founded in sovereignty, responsibility and harmony. It has no link with any religion, dogma, or societal convention. It is a path of life that is open to anyone, anywhere in the world, and from any walk of life.

Shamans restore harmony – within a being, within a community, between mankind and nature, or wherever else their calling leads them. They facilitate rites of passage and are guides on a path of healing, transformation and wholeness. Traditionally, they are chosen by the spirit world and acknowledged by the community they live in.

Altered states of consciousness have become a thing in the last few decades

Shamans are often called the ‘walkers between the worlds’ or ‘the ones who see in the dark’. The existence of more than our mundane, everyday reality is a fundamental concept in shamanism.

Nowadays this is called multi-dimensionality or unity field, and we use quantum physics to get a glimpse of it. In the shamanic traditions it is called the ‘Spirit World’ and many different practices exist to access it. What all of them have in common is that they use altered states of consciousness – be it through percussion (e.g. drumming), meditative or sensory deprivation techniques, ecstasy practices, or plant medicine.

From the Marines, CIA and NASA to Silicon Valley and professional athletes, everyone is exploring the benefits of altered states of consciousness, such as:
› heightened perception and awareness, deeper brain connection and activity
› flow states with seemingly endless supplies of energy and focus
› instant access to inspiration and complex insights, contentment, and so on

Everyone can learn altered states of consciousness (re-learn actually, as we are born with the ability), and everyone can learn shamanic practices. Both have been around since millennia because they work. And they do not out-date because their eternal, universal essence adapts to the circumstances of the culture and times they are applied in – be it in a modern-day context, or a traditional one. This is why they are accessible to anyone who wishes to live a life of harmony and unity.

Shamanic trance mediumship - Becoming a sacred vessel for Spirit

Shamans and shamanic practitioners use altered states of consciousness and ecstasy techniques to bridge and walk between the worlds: our everyday reality, and the Spirit world (non-ordinary reality).

Shamanic trance mediumship brings the energy, power and wisdom of spirit guides through into our everyday world (for example during a healing session or community ceremony). It is a deeply fulfilling, humbling, and sacred practice, that weaves an unbreakable bond between the human and the divine. Technically speaking, shamanic trance mediumship combines mental and physical mediumship practices. These techniques are at the heart of any shamanic practice, but can also tremendously enrich other intuitive healing and counseling modalities.
